MIT’s ‘mini cheetah’ robots playing soccer and winning

On Nov, 6 MIT posted a video showing its virtually indestructible mini cheetah robots doing all sorts of things like running, jumping and playing soccer. The first thing that comes to my mind is- WOW!! Now we have a new predator in the jungle.

The video was posted by MIT’s Biomimetics Robotics Department. The robot is controlled manually, weighs around 20lbs (approx. 9 Kg) and can run at a maximum speed of six miles per hour. The robot can do 360 backflips and recover immediately.

The mini cheetah was designed to be modular for using off the shelf part and low operational cost. It can do a full backflip and stand-still.
